Ricardo Cavolo

April 3, 2009

I’ve noticed that I use the words “stare” and “gaze” a lot.  I promise that will end soon.  I’m making a conscious effort to write more critically on here, but it’s so hard to do especially when I come across work like Ricardo Cavolo’s illustrations.  I mean, how can you not fall in love with these red nosed beauties?!

To top that off, these paper cutouts are some of the most playful and ingenious pieces I’ve ever seen.  They’re downright charming.

Look!!!  You can even make the flames move.

Could it get any better?  Uh yeah…Here’s one of Elvis Perkins.

Definitely check out the rest of Ricardo’s work.  It’ll bring a smile to your face.

The Elvis Perkins one sent my heart into my throat.

This illustrator is like something out of a Wes Anderson movie.
